Philips launches new fresh air mask that also works as an air purifier

Health tech company Royal Philips launched an innovative fresh air mask in India on Saturday. Combining excellent breathing comfort, strong filtration performance and contemporary design, the Philips fresh air mask will provide protection against increasing levels of air pollution in the country.

The Philips fresh air mask costs ??6,990.

Commenting on the new launch, Vidyut Kaul, Head of Personal Health at Philips Indian Subcontinent, said: “The risk of air pollution is very real and is getting worse every year. As we work towards a long term goal of reducing pollution, it is also important to protect ourselves from its harmful effects on a daily basis. “

Incorporating the state-of-the-art fresh air blower, the mask coupled with dynamic airflow design delivers air-ventilating performance that delivers fresh air every second, lowering humidity, temperature levels and CO2 behind the mask.

This provides cooler, drier and fresher breaths every second, greatly increasing breathing comfort. The efficiency of filtration is the key to the protection offered by masks. Equipped with a 4-layer, high-filtration, valve-less filter, the Philips fresh air mask features a two-way filtration system so that inhaled and exhaled air passes through the filter.

The ventilation module is also specially designed to avoid spreading filtered exhaled air horizontally outwards, which could potentially affect people near the mask wearer. To ensure effective air purification, the filter should be replaced after 40 hours of wear. If used at longer intervals, it is recommended to replace the filter at least every two weeks.

The product comes with a fashionable design, including a reusable cover which is ingeniously designed with aerial mesh and precise 3D laser cutting, which adapts well to any face and blends in with any look. It has a charging port for the fan module which can work for 2 to 3.5 hours after charging.

To ensure filtration efficiency, it is recommended not to exceed the consecutive usage time of a single disposable filter of 40 hours.
