Governor Gordon’s management of the COVID-19 pandemic

0

We are now well past the 1.5 year mark of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Governor Mark Gordon has served as the head of Wyoming state government throughout that time.

The governor has mainly avoided some of the more restrictive state mandates seen in other states, including Colorado. He imposed some restrictions in 2020, including limits on indoor gatherings and at one point a statewide mask warrant that continued through the first part of this year. Some local warrants were also imposed in various counties.

But the governor also said he would not reimpose a statewide mask mandate this year, and Wyoming has never had the kind of restrictive closures that have been seen in many states, including including California. The governor also pledged to push back federal mandates on COVID vaccines ordered by the Biden administration.

Our question today therefore relates to the governor’s overall management of the pandemic. Has he imposed or allowed too many restrictions? Too few? Or did he manage it pretty well overall?
