The CDC recommends an additional booster for people with moderate to severe immunocompromises, such as patients receiving active cancer treatments or transplant patients. The rest of the public is currently on hold, waiting to see if and when additional boosters will be needed. At this time, additional boosters are not advised for the vast majority of Americans.

“I just got my Moderna booster and had tingling in my hands and feet that only lasted about a day. This happens every time I get the shot. Is this normal? I asked my doctor and they never heard of it.-Debbie

I can’t say I’ve heard of this side effect of COVID-19 vaccines, but if it occurs in both hands and both feet and only lasts for a day, it doesn’t seem serious. Sometimes anxiety can cause your hands to tingle. I would say if you notice this happening outside of a vaccine, I’ll talk to your doctor about it.

Standard masks do not kill viruses. They try to filter them out so you don’t inhale them. Some masks with a disinfectant coating claim to reduce the risk of transmitting viruses and other germs to your hands. Other researchers are working on prototype anti-virus masks. But rather than buying a mask that claims to kill viruses, invest in credible N95 or KN95 masks that offer the best filtering ability.
