AfterShock signs ex-DC Comics editor Brian Cunningham as editor – AIPT

AfterShock Comics announced today that it has hired former DC Comics Editor-in-Chief Brian Cunningham as its new Editor-in-Chief. He will bring in former IDW publishing director Chris Ryall as a publishing consultant.

This news comes just days after former AfterShock editor Mike Marts quit and moved his talents to Mad Cave Studios.

Cunningham, who has worked in the industry for more than 25 years, has edited several New York Times bestselling comic and graphic novel collections, and was a founding editor of Folio Award-winning Wizard magazine. As editor of DC Comics, he helmed series such as Batman: Earth One, Superman, Justice League, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Eisner Award-winning Jimmy Olsen. In addition to publishing, Cunningham also teaches a comics course at UCLA.
